Throw in the inevitable media circus and the columns/books/podcasts from Simmons’ front office, and Minnesota gets a chance to rebuild its franchise while doing something completely different. There’s really nothing to lose.

I think Simmons would be a good GM, because, you know, maybe he would, but I imagine actually doing the job is tougher than writing about the job. The real reason this should happen is because Simmons would finally get to test the many theories he stands behind, and would get to put them on the line in a real, live situation.
