Shouldn't the question be whether the ball was in his hands for more than .3 seconds and not whether he released it before the red light came on? What if the person running the clock started it too soon?

One other element that I don't think gets taken into consideration is when the arena clock operator starts the clock running. If the clock starts a tick before the play begins, it would cause the buzzer to go off a tick before Miller releases, even if Miller did it within 0.3 seconds. That's a big reason why I give the shot to Miller and the Bulls
