If only there were a 12 part video of this interview that could be put on the main page. that would be awesome.

If something legitimately interesting happens on any specific blog, it’s immediately going to be linked to on 200 other sites, so there’s no need to consistently go to any one source.

Six strong questions, five good answers. If you didn't follow the events in Beijing, Chuck, it's best to admit you're not in the best position to answer.

    (Nice get, Ryan.)

Obama is totally a tucker. It's better than rocking the untucked, long polo & sweats that I'm sure Jay Mariotti dons at the gym.

self-righteous. What a tool. Those who think they know just don't know

Ridiculous. Obama would totally choose Kevin Garnett.

I love Chuck. But the 100m hurdles is basically a "different stroke" for running.
  • ScottyF311 · 1 year ago
He raises a good point though. Why are there so many distances and strokes? Why don't we have different basketball games with different amounts of players? Hammer throws with varying weights of hammer and varying shapes of field? Fencing with knives? Really tiny ping pong tables?
  • Jack · 1 year ago
@ScottyF311 They do have different types of fencing, sabre, foil, etc... but otherwise you're right
@sandy Believe me, he does know.

The blog chuck is describing with statistical number crunchin is BlazersEdge. It's the only blog worth reading op to bottom that I've found. Of course, it helps tremendously if you're a Blazers fan.

Never really cared for the guy, and care less (if possible) after his ignorant comment about Phelps. He didn't make the rules, just won the races presented to him. Get over it, Chuckie.
  • Eric Angevine · 1 year ago
I think the impressive thing about Phelps is that he was able to participate in each of those events in one week and still dominate. I mean, even if you eat the equivalent of a baby elephant every day, you're still going to get tired eventually.

    Unless, of course, he juices.

While I enjoyed most of the interview, this mans ignorance when it comes to Olympics is just sad. Of course no one is forced to like the Olympics, but this is no excuse for ignorance.
Anyway, thanks for the interview, I learned a lot about Chuck.

They seemed different, and they had more voice. But now EVERYBODY wants to be funny. That’s all there is. You can’t blog about any subject without making some sort of obvious joke, and that kind of thinking has spilled into the mainstream media.

That’s the biggest philosophical difference between old media and new media: If a sportswriter at the Washington Post breaks a story the New York Times doesn’t have, the Post wins that day
