Like, I love sports, but I don't want to be that sportswriter that takes things way too seriously and lacks perspective about the larger things in life. So I insert politics and music and movies and whatever else -- look at me! I'm well-rounded and occasionally literate and quasi-intellectual!

&lt;br&gt;The other part is politics have literally invaded my brain in the past 12 months, and I can't get them out.
